The Paradox of Perspective
In an apartment in chandigarh, India. There lived Two brothers, Parth and Vansh.
One day both the brothers were sitting in a bedroom talking about businesses and the younger brother, Vansh came up with two points. which was stuck in his head.
One was of their father and other was from the book he read two years back named Cashflow Quadrant written by Robert Kiyosaki.
:—The father, Gupta Ji says that "even the passive income is not 100% passive"
:—Robert in his book says that "The great skills of leadership combined with the system converts self-employment into a business".
Page no. 45 book- cashflow quadrant written by Robert KiyosakiHere, the elder brother asks "what?" Vansh with a little smirk on his face replied see let's take an example- you buy a real estate (house) and rent it to someone. Firstly you will need to get the documents for buying the house which takes a lot of time and then when you rent it to someone there will be many types of formalities and problems like the tenant is not paying the rent or the maintenance of the house etc. So, even though it is passive, you will have to give some of your time to maintain it.
Now, parth grinned confidently and said take the example of USA- it is called a capitalist society but still it's not 100% private. He gave another example of perfection that no one is 100% perfect in this world. Therefore there is nothing like 100%. Coming to your example you said that you will have to invest your time, even to make passive income—yes, but passive income is called passive not because you are earning while just sipping chai (Tea) but it is named as passive because it needs a little of 10-20% of the efforts and time compared to the active income. He said that you should understand the essence behind the words.
"But what about the quote of Robert Kiyosaki?" Vansh asked. Parth explained the book's point "if you want to run a successful business then it must have a great leadership and a system to run it on autopilot mode". If you fail to do so then it is not different from self employment but that doesn't mean you are not a businessman and a self employed. You will still be a businessman. You are running a business- the exchange, production and procurement is still taking place. Here, the essence is different if you read the words carefully. So the things depends on emotions, essence, experience not only on papers, analytics or technicality.
Well after the debate something happened to my perspective and it changed to different angles. It is now quite mixed up. Vansh and Parth both are correct. They both are sharing their thoughts or perspectives about the topic. I agree with Vansh and his father, that none of the passive income is totally passive but I think it is possible because everything depends on the people you are dealing with, business you are in with, conditions you are in or what value your business has. Everything is subjective. If your tangents are high value or famous or earns a lot of money, they will avoid creating an issue over the money. Because they care about their public image. But at the same time if you own a small house and the tenants are normal 9-5 working professionals then you might be in a problem.
At the same time if we talk about businesses, the owner also takes income from the company untill unless you and company are a same entity on papers. Hence if we see it in this way then a businessman is also an employee.
This means the concept i studied in the textbook of 11th was correct and the concept of 4 quadrants is also correct but that doesn't matter. Because everything varries. Not a single thing in this world is same as it is. Everything varries according to the perspectives. There is a quote of book named "How to win friends and influence people" written by Dale carnegie which says "even the most hardened criminals think they are innocent so why waste time blaming?" And my perspectives have changed.
Here, in this story Parth- the elder brother, vansh- the younger brother, the author of book cashflow quadrant Robert Kiyosaki and the father of the brothers Gupta Ji. we all had different point of views. Hence, we can say that we all are different and we all have our own perspectives. Hence we are living in "The Paradox of Perspectives"
Moral of the Story- we should do whatever we want and think is right for us. Never copy others.
What are your views on this topic? Do you think they all were correct?
